It's BIAW Time Again

BIAW. Book In A Week. Where I and the other insane ladies in my Brazen Vixens group decide we're going to turn off our nefarious internal editors and just git 'er done.

In one week.

I'm shooting for 6,000 words per day. Oy.

Vay.

So, needless to say, my blog is going to be pretty sparse this week. I'll keep you posted on how I'm doing. I'm hoping, since I seem to be on the downside of this cold, that the state of my health won't affect me too badly.

BIAW. Here we go...

Well, seeing as how it's almost 1:00 and I've only written about 50 words... I may be industriously biting off more than I can chew. :)

BIAW???

Impressed, jealous, worried too that quality will take a hit - but confident you'll pull it off!

I tend to write 500 words, read them, and then spend hours tweaking those few paragraphs to get them perfect. And they never are :(

Will you be posting us a few excerpts?

Well, hello, Faltenin. Thanks for dropping by!

The whole idea of BIAW is to just crank out the story. In one week. Then spend however much time you need going back and tweaking. So any quality issues will be addressed once the bare bones of the story is laid down. My usual style is to edit as I go--I don't even usually make it 500 words before I'm tweaking. :)

Well, I got just over 1,100 done, and it's 3:00 and time for a nap. Damn, I hate being sick. :(

Hey at least you can nap, my friend. Every time I get horizontal I begin to hack and wheeze.

I did, however, discover that there is a nastier medicine that Buckley's and it's Neocitrin's syrup. Good god! That stuff is nasty.

That's what I did in the first few days of this cold, Jenna. Now, on the 10th day, the cough is just about gone. Hang in there.

And my nap was 3 hours long. Sheesh.

BOOK in a WEEK. My God, I gotta go lie down, the mere THOUGHT of cranking out that many words tires me!

It's nice to be retired.

Good luck and GodSpeed, Sherrill!! Just don't forget about All's Fair...I don't want to miss a single installment!
