It's Movie Time

I haven't done this in awhile. It's fun, and I hope people join in and play!

I've listed several movie quotes below. If you know (or think you know) the movie it came from, leave a comment and tell me in the comment section. If you're right, I'll post your answer next to the quote.

Let the games begin:

1. If you don't like it you can kiss my furry little butt. (Men In Black ~ Laura K.)
2. Forget about holding her hand, man. Think about the damage he could do other places. (Edward Scissorhands ~ Sierra)
3. People don't drink the sand because they're thirsty. They drink the sand because they don't know the difference. (The American President ~ Sierra)
4. No, no you're not a worm feast. You're a hallucination brought on by alcohol. (Scrooged ~ Ali)
5. I trust everybody. It's the devil inside them I don't trust. (The Italian Job ~ Qwillia)
6. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. (The Wizard of Oz ~ Qwillia)
7. 'Scuse me while I whip this out. (Blazing Saddles ~ Ali)
8. One man's life touches so many others, when he's not there it leaves an awfully big hole. (It's A Wonderful Life ~ Qwillia)
9. It's the karmic credit plan. Buy now, pay forever. (Dead Again ~ Laura K. and Melissa K.)
10. Never rub another man's rhubarb. (Batman ~ Qwillia)

All righty, then. What are these movies?

First Review for IT TAKES A THIEF OR TWO

4 Hearts!

From The Romance Studio: "This quick read will surely stimulate your senses. The lust between all three is off the charts and I like how Jessie’s insecurities are handled by Nick and Brock. With just a few words they make her forget those extra pounds. The lust changes very quickly to love and when Jessie’s ghost of a grandfather makes his appearance it adds a touch of comedy to the story, followed by anxiety over her grandmother. This book will touch all your senses and leave you with a good feeling about their different relationship."

Friday Treat

I have an early start at work today--have an employee orientation that begins at 7:30, so I'll have to leave my house by about 6:30 to get there early enough to get set up, etc. So I've got my energy directed that way and nothing really stupendous to say here on the blog...

So, with that being said, enjoy!

"Danger: Avoid Death" Contest Winners

Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch (M-LAW) hosts an annual "Wacky Warning Label Contest". This year, the winning label was:

The label says: "Avoid Death. Before removing seat belt and leaving seat:
  • Lower lift arms to ground or rest lift arms on stops
  • Stop engine
  • Lock park brake and remove key"
You know, my mom has 3 acres, just about all of it grass, which I had to mow from the time I was about 13 until I left for college. And then once I got back from college. Not one time did I even think about getting off the riding mower without a) stopping and putting the mower in park and b) turning off the mower blades. I mean, isn't it just common sense?!? But read on...

On an iron-on T-shirt transfer: "Do not iron while wearing shirt." (Or you might get a little hot under the collar...)

On a baby stroller featuring a small storage pouch that warns: "Do not put child in bag." (Aw, why not?)

An honorable mention went out for a label on a fabric marker: "The Vanishing Fabric Marker should not be used as a writing instrument for signing checks or any legal documents." (Unless, of course, you meant to use invisible ink...)

"Predatory lawyers know they can file ridiculous lawsuits against innocent product makers and blackmail them into cash settlements--even in cases in which a user has ignored common sense," said Dorigo Jones, president of M-LAW. "The real issue is not the obvious warning labels, but the billions of dollars in litigation costs passed on to consumers--a kind of a "lawsuit tax" we all pay. That is why M-LAW urges judges and policy makers to support civil justice reform."

Yeah. Remember the lady that opened a lid on a cup of hot McDonald's coffee between her thighs in the car and received burns? Hello? H-o-t coffee. What else did you expect?

Call me a cynic, but I'm a firm believer that people are stupid. Or, at least, we do stupid things. We don't engage our brains before we leap into action. That's why hemorrhoid creams have "for external use only" written on them, sleeping pills warn "may cause drowsiness" and labels on strollers warn "Remove child before folding."

Have we become a nation of idiots? Do we really need to be told not to use a flushable toilet wand for personal hygiene? Or not to use a hair dryer while asleep? (To read past winners from the annual contest, go here.)

What are some of your favorite labels?

New Review for TO THE VICTOR GO THE SPOILS

5 Stars from Just Erotic Romance Reviews!

"To The Victor Go The Spoils was a wonderful novella. Set in a futuristic time, there were a few secondary characters that fit beautifully in the plot. The plot was perfect, without a single skip... From the moment they met, I could see that Bane and Devon would fall in love and their love was both beautiful and intense. When Devon seduced Bane, they began having an incredible sexual experience. I had to stop reading in order to find a toy and then I read through to find out what would happen between Devon and Bane and Devon's difficulties with the government. Read To The Victor Go The Spoils, you will love it hopefully as much as I."

Christmas Tradition

Santa was very cross. It was Christmas Eve and nothing was going right. Mrs. Claus had burned all the cookies. The elves were complaining about not getting paid for the overtime they had earned while making toys. The reindeer had been drinking all afternoon and were dead drunk. To make matters worse, they had taken the sleigh out for a spin earlier in the day and had crashed it into a tree. Santa was furious. "I can't believe it! I have to deliver millions of presents all over the world in just a few hours--all of my reindeer are drunk, the elves are on strike, and I don't even have a Christmas tree! I sent that stupid Little Angel out hours ago to find a tree and he isn't even back yet. What am I going to do?"

Just then, the Little Angel opened the front door and stepped in from the snowy night, dragging a Christmas tree. He says, "Yo, fat man! Where do you want me to stick the tree this year?"

And thus, the tradition of angels atop the Christmas Tree came to pass...

First Review for TO THE VICTOR GO THE SPOILS

"To The Victor Go The Spoils by Sherrill Quinn is a short hot read. The main characters are well developed with distinct voices. The sexual tension between Bane and Devon was intense... All in all To The Victor Go The Spoils is a good read." (ReviewYourBook.com)

Get A What...?

If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never says its not quite as good as his mother made it...

Then get a dog.

If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour, for as long and wherever you want...

Then get a dog.

If you want someone who is content to get up on your bed just to warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores...

Then get a dog.

If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually...

Then get a dog.

But, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness...

...

...

...

Then get a cat!

(Now, be honest. You thought I was going to say "Get a man," didn't you?!?) LOL

Happy Tuesday!

New Release - IT TAKES A THIEF OR TWO

Available December 9th:

They've always known they'd have to share the same woman, and the woman they want is Jessica Norton. Jessica has wanted both men for years, but doesn't think she can have both of them. When her grandmother arranges to have the men come to the house to set them up with a new security system, the men seize the opportunity to convince Jessie she's wrong. New Review for DEMON OF HER DREAMS

4 Cups!

From Coffee Time Romance: "Demon of Her Dreams is a new, light-hearted twist on the battle of ‘Good vs. Evil’. While the former Catholic Schoolgirl in me initially rebelled against the idea of the Devil’s spawn in the role of a hero, Urian grew on me. He is basically just a guy doing his job who fell in love in the workplace and who happens to have a questionable pedigree and suite in hell. Hailey is bewildered and believable, and seeing events take place through her made for a fun and passionate story. I would read it again!" (Heather)

My mom and sister's visit got in the way of writing (which is a good thing on one hand--I needed the break; but on the other hand I missed my writing!) and I didn't get today's installment of Faery Kisses written. I'll do my best to put it together today and get it posted tomorrow.

Sorry!!!

As a consolation, here's another naughty Santa for you to enjoy.

Review for DEMON OF HER DREAMS

"I liked the interesting concept of this novella in that the supernatural world was actually a conglomerate. And that good and evil are sitting together on the board of this corporation... A great start to a new series. I haven’t read any of Ms Quinn’s other works so she’s a new author to me. But I liked her easy writing style... Demon of Her Dreams was a quick and enjoyable read for me. And I look forward to seeing more from this author." (Danni, Night Owl Romance)
