Joe Flanigan/Jim Rockford
There's some talk about NBC doing a remake of the Rockford Files. I've heard on one hand that they're looking to cast "young" (i.e., a 20-something), which strikes me as just wrong. Jim Rockford needs to have experience, needs to be a little worn down by life.
Yesterday the Twitter world was abuzz with this little tidbit--Joe Flanigan would be interested in playing Rockford. And, man, do all the Flan fans want him to! Joe as Rockford would be perfect casting.
So here's my vote. :) Joe Flanigan as Jim Rockford!

I agree. I think Joe has the potential to break out as a star beyond SF.
He gets my vote too. They sure are doing a lot of remakes of the oldies but goodies. I remember watching Rockford as a kid...loved that show.
I loved Rockford Files when I was a kid. No polyester suits though, please! lol
I'm with you, Joe's good to go! :D
I thought the whole concept of remaking The Rockford Files was stupid but I'd watch if Joe Flanigan was in it. :)
Just like I'll watch the new Hawaii 5-0 for Daniel Dae Kim. :)
Rhonda, Joe brings a lot of depth to whatever character he plays. He's in a movie to be released this summer called Good Day For It--can't wait! :)
Kara, I guess "they" are also doing a remake of Hawaii 5-O, and I've heard Josh Holloway has been tapped to play McGarrett. We watched that and Rockford all the time!
LOL Colleen, I'm pretty sure polyester suits (those godawful "leisure" suits) are gone for good. I hope so, anyway!
Tori, give me a guy who's pretty enough and I'll watch just about anything! LOL But Joe at least brings mega talent to the proposition in addition to good looks. ;)
Oops. I meant Alex O'Loughlin has been tapped to play McGarrett. Not Josh Holloway.
Sherill - I'm looking forward to "Good Day for It," too. Have you heard that Joe is supposed to be appearing on an episode of the Jace Hall Show to be posted today? http://jacehall.tv/
GO JOE.. Flanigan for rockford..
Rhonda, I'm anxiously awaiting for it to be posted. LOL
You got it, anon. JoeRockford!
Rockford only one person..Joe Flanigan
That's right, Christine! Go Joe!
Joe would fit the bill perfectly. I don't want to see some young kid playing Rockford.
Have been doing all I can to see it happens e.g. snail mail to Universal Media and Carousel Productions. I also emailed the Rockford Files production till they pulled the plug, probably due to the avalanche that they received. I also called the production company. When I used to work in public affairs we were told that for every person who contacted us there were 300 who did not, but would have had they known how to do it.
